About Tim Chan



Tim has over 15 years’ experience of teaching high school students in Hong Kong. He then migrated to Australia. The community he had served includes oversea students in university, multicultural church, and visit patients as a hospital chaplain. He is an ordained church minister. Throughout these years and especially during COVID, he felt people’s pressing needs for couple or family therapy. Behind the relationship strain are usually mental illnesses which globally affect people of all ages and all cultures. He heard many stories and never gave up hope for clients by utilizing his resources of knowledge, skills, experiences and client-therapist relationship. Tim loves learning from books, online resources and peers. He keeps learning so as to promote client’s well-being. His goals to support client moving forward with confidence and ease.

Tim's native language is Cantonese. He speaks English and Mandarin as well.

Sophia Chan

Sophia is a registered music therapist with experience with working with kids and adults with special needs and the elderly in nursing homes. She uses a strengths-based approach with her clients to build their confidence in other areas. Sophia strives to work with the client and their families to best achieve their goals.
Music therapy is an allied health profession which uses music to help a person improve their health and well-being. This includes social and communication skills, motor skills, emotional regulation and other functioning skills that contributes to activities of daily living. Music therapy sessions in Australia must be provided by music therapists registered with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
